Situated on the
Costa Calida
or "Warm
Coast",
the province of Murcia has over
170km
of coastline dotted with wonderful Mediterranean beaches in addition to
the largest salt-water lagoon in Europe - the Mar Menor, ideal for
family bathing as the water here is calm and shallow and 5 degrees
warmer than the rest of the Mediterranean. The local landscape is
peppered with breathtaking cliffs, heavenly secluded beaches, lively
seaports and natural coves of crystal-clear waters.
The Murcia Region is a privileged land, a perfect example of quality of
life in the Mediterranean. It enjoys warm, mild temperatures (with an
annual average of 21º C) over 310 sunny days per year and low rainfall
which make it an oasis of well-being in any season.

Murcia -
The city is described as one of the most beautiful and historic in the
country. The city stands on the banks of the river and enjoys all year
round sunshine. There is a great deal of Moorish influence in the city,
not least of all the impressive city walls. After the re-conquest, the
20 mosques in the city were turned into churches. The Cathedral is the
most highly prized building in the city. The first foundation stone was
laid in 1388 by Bishop Pedrosa but it took four centuries to complete.

Cartagena
- This historical city has a large ancient port, exceptional Roman
ruins, temples, thermal baths and a spectacular Roman theatre. You can
also find lively bars, restaurants and excellent shopping.
Caravaca de la Cruz
- one of the world’s 5 Holy Cities, seat of the powerful order of
Santiago from the X111 century, whose influence can still be felt in its
historic old heart.
Lorca
- a great historic city with guided tours available. Lose yourself in
its streets, museums and artisan neighbourhoods.

Nowhere else will you find such a diversity of historical, artistic, &
gastronomic tradition within a setting of stunning natural beauty &
ideal climate. Whether you are sampling Murcia's fine gastronomy,
playing the many sports, visiting the cultural heritage, or simply
enjoying its nature & wonderful towns, Murcia offers everything needed
to make your holiday an unforgettable one.
